The cornflower, in its wild state, is a flower that is now almost completely extinct because its natural habitat has been attacked by chemical herbicides used for intensive agriculture.
We therefore like the idea of "scattering" the seed of this flower so that it can grow again.
The cornflower represents happiness and light-heartedness.
Its scientific name is Centaurea Cyanus and legend tells that the centaur Chiron used a cornflower mixture to heal the wound at his leg when Hercules hit him with an arrow Cornflower.
When we started the UPGRAPE project, the idea of the flower came along with it.
So giving the cornflower seed as a gift means balancing CO2 emissions, making the customer as actor in this UPGRAPE Mission circular economy dynamic.
In each UPGRAPE product we put a card, made from paper made from recycled materials, containing cornflower seeds.
..... and that's what we got till now at UpGrape,
now it's up to you!
This card, dipped in a container with a light coating of water, will make the cornflower seeds in it germinate.
It will be your small but valuable contribution to achieving ever greater sustainability.
